For Eric Pertnoy Family is a Priority

Eric Pertnoy is a man who has the luxury of creating his own work schedule and is able to spend as much time with his family as he feels he should. His wife is very appreciative of this quality in her husband as she works full-time and needs to commute far from home each day to her place of work. Even though they only have one child, a son, she’s grateful that Eric Pertnoy is responsible for most of the juggling activities and obligations.

Eric Pertnoy realizes that not all fathers can be as involved as he is but hopes he can spread some of his message. He truly believes that a person who really treats their family as a priority can find the time to be there – both physically and mentally. Some fathers and mothers alike can get home in the evenings after a long day of work and cannot shake the stress of their day. These parents, in Eric Pertnoy’s view, can work a bit harder to live in the present once they leave their office. There is no use in harboring the day’s frustrations when your child wants nothing more than you to smile when he or she shows you what they made in art class.

Eric Pertnoy is thankful that he can make his family a priority, but also thankful that he realizes why they need to be his priority. He believes these are actually two different mentalities or realities for many parents. Again, Eric Pertnoy does not judge those who do not have the flexibility he has, but has observed many parents who are too preoccupied with things that are not important (or should not be important) once they come through the door. Eric Pertnoy and his son share a bond that other families can only dream of in this day in age.
